Silent Typer

Privacy

Nothing you type leaves your browser. There is no server, no account, no database, no upload, no analytics and no advertising. Once the page has loaded it does not talk to us at all.

What is stored, and where

Three things, in your own browser’s localStorage, on your device. They are never transmitted.

Clearing site data for this domain deletes all of it. There is nothing on our side to delete, because there is no our side.

What is not collected

No account, email or name. No keystroke or pointer telemetry. No copy of your text, ever, for any reason — not a sample, not a summary, not a single word of it.

Usage counting

There is none running. No page views, no events, no session recording. If it is ever switched on, this page will say so: the paragraphs here are chosen by the site from its own configuration, so they cannot drift out of date.

Advertising

There is none, and no code here capable of showing any. No ad network, no third-party script, no advertising cookie, and no consent prompt because there is nothing to consent to. Why it’s free explains what pays for it instead.

Hosting and your rights

The site is served as static files. Like any web server, the host keeps ordinary request logs — IP address, time, file, user agent. That is the only server-side record, and it contains nothing about what you typed.

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, correction, erasure and portability over personal data held about you. Here the honest answer is that we hold none: everything is on your device, under your control, with no third party to exercise them against.

The skins change what the page looks like. They are a visual novelty and nothing more — they hide nothing from screen recording, network monitoring, or software installed on the computer you are using.
